Scott Pingel
Scott Pingel is an American bassist who is the principal bassist in the San Francisco Symphony. He had been the principal bassist with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra.〔http://www.sfcm.edu/faculty/pingel.aspx〕 In 2011 Pingel had the privilege of performing on the acclaimed Karr-Koussevitzky bass for his solo debut with Andrei Gorbatenko and the San Francisco Academy Orchestra.〔http://www.sfacademyorchestra.org/pressroom.html〕 He currently serves as Professor of Music at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre & Dance.
Pingel is also an educator who has taught at institutions like Juilliard, the Manhattan School of Music, the University of Michigan, Vanderbilt University and the Shanghai Conservatory.〔http://en.academic.ru/dic.nsf/enwiki/11482343〕 Beyond his work with classical music, Pingel has also played jazz.
